Who We Are
Karen lives in sunny Tallahassee, Florida, and loves praying with people who are seeking healing and a deeper relationship with God. She is married to the love of her life, Gordon, and is the proud mother of two daughters and grandmother of nine. A former registered nurse, she earned her Master’s in Biblical Counseling from Tallahassee Christian College and Training Center and is a certified HeartSync prayer facilitator. In her free time, she enjoys being with family and spending summers in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
What Is HeartSync?
HeartSync is a Christ-centered inner healing ministry founded to help fulfill Jesus’ mission to “heal the brokenhearted” and bring people into undivided love for God. Developed by Bishop Andrew Miller, HeartSync recognizes that many of us carry a divided heart—places of pain, disconnection, or unresolved conflict that make it hard to fully connect with God and others. Scripture gives language to that longing: “Unite my heart to fear your name” (Psalm 86:11). Through gentle, guided prayer, HeartSync works with the different aspects of the heart and helps bring them into relationship with Jesus, so the whole heart can experience His presence, truth, and healing love.
HeartSync teaches that the heart has four core parts that shape how we live and relate to God. The True Self is the part most able to connect with Jesus. The Function part carries the responsibilities of daily life and often stays disconnected from pain. The Emotion part holds wounding, trauma, and unresolved feelings. The Guardian tries to protect us by keeping those painful places apart from everyday functioning. In prayer, HeartSync gently helps each part come into relationship with Jesus so the whole heart can move toward healing, connection, and freedom.
During a prayer session, a facilitator gently helps each part of the heart connect with Jesus and, over time, with one another. As the True Self, Function, Emotion, and Guardian come into His presence, conflicts can be resolved, wounds can be brought into the light, and separated places of the heart can begin to move toward unity. The goal is not to force healing, but to invite the whole heart into loving relationship with God—so that what once felt divided can experience His peace, connection, and restoration.
What Is a Prayer Session Like?
Prayer sessions are available online or in person and typically last one to two hours. Online sessions are held over Skype, using a private link provided by the prayer facilitator. Everything shared is kept confidential, and you are welcome to go at your own pace—there is no pressure to have the right words or share more than you feel ready to share.
A HeartSync prayer session is a gentle, guided time of Christ-centered inner healing. It usually begins with a brief orientation and opening prayer, inviting Jesus’ presence and protection. The facilitator then helps you connect with God and notice what is happening in your heart. Together, you prayerfully explore the part of the heart that is most present—True Self, Function, Emotion, or Guardian—and invite that part into relationship with Jesus. Over time, other parts of the heart may also be welcomed into that connection, so places that once felt separated can begin to move toward healing and unity. The session ends with closing prayer.
